How to Replace a Hood Hinge on Dodge Intrepid?

Put support under the hood you will be removing, then mark the spots for all the screws and bolts with a grease pencil. De-attach the gas prop lock caps and gas prop from the hinge, then take away the screws that hold the hood to the hinge. After that, unfasten the bracket bolts attaching the hood hinge to the load beam wall, then pull out the hinge, since you must take out the wiper motor to get to the lower left side of the hood hinge. Should you paint the hinge, do so before putting it into position on the vehicle and install the bolts that attach the hinge to the load beam wall. Affix the hooks that fit into your hinge system and tighten them so that all marks line up. A 4 mm (0.160 in.) distance to the front fenders and an even surface along the top of the fenders should be maintained by the hood. Hold the hood high or low with the hinge to body bolts and then tighten all the bolts to a torque of 22.6 to 33.9 N.m (200 to 300 in.lbs.). Attach the gas prop to the vehicle, lock it in place with the cap, bring the wiper motor assembly together and then raise the hood and check its behavior without supporting it.
