First, make sure to inspect the shoulder/lap belt; if it is cut, worn, torn or damaged, replace the retractor. Open by removing the rear shelf trim panel and unscrew the bolt that connects the center rear seat belt retractor to the rear shelf. Remove the center rear seat belt retractor from your car. After installation, attach the center rear seat belt retractor back to the rear shelf and tighten the bolt to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.). Installing the rear shelf trim panel again, make sure the rear seat back retaining nut (the same as the center seat belt anchor) is tightened to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.). After that, fit in the rear seat back and be sure the belts are threaded correctly to avoid any twists or tangles in the seat belts or buckles.
