Clean the space close to the sensor/valve stem hole on wheel 5, to check that the wheel has not been damaged. To protect the sensor antenna strap, apply downward pressure to the rear of metal valve stem 2 while passing through sensor 1 into the wheel. First, press the washer into place 3, then push the sensor housing 2 down firmly on the wheel 1 so that it's level with the surface of the wheel and tighten the sensor nut using 8 Nm (71 in. lbs.) of force. Tighten the sensor nut only enough, because it doesn't take much extra force to pull the sensor off the valve stem. Keep the sensor valve stem 2 approximately 280° away from the changer's head or 210° clockwise from installation end of the mounting/dismounting tool, making sure the sensor is not below the lower bead breaker area. Fill the tires to the recommended pressure shown on the label by the driver's side B-pillar and fit the original valve stem caps. Set the tire and wheel assembly 1 into the wheel opening, attach with wheel mounting nuts 3 tightened to 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs.) and bring the vehicle down. Either scan the tire pressure sensor ID into the TPM-RKE Analyzer, Special Tool 9936, use it with the Scan Tool or drive the vehicle continuously above 15 mph (24 km/h) for 10 minutes after being motionless for at least 20 minutes. Should a sensor be unable to recognize a condition, try using the correct diagnostic tools.
