Take out the fuel filter/regulator by twisting it and pulling up straight inside the rubber grommet. Stop at about three inches above the fuel pump module so you do not damage the coiled fuel tube. Using a knife, carefully cut the old fuel tube clamp, so you don't harm the plastic tube and then take the plastic tube out of the filter/regulator. For installation, attach a new clamp to the plastic fuel tube and set in the filter/regulator, adjusting it until it faces the driver's side of the car. Work cleanly by avoiding ordinary side cutters when tightening the line clamp and rely on special Hose Clamp Pliers number C-4124 or a similar one. Place the rubber grommet over the filter/regulator, correctly towards the driver's side, then put back the fuel tank and inspect for fuel leaks.
