Before working on the flex plate, remove the transaxle. Remove next the 8 bolts securing the flex plate together, then unfasten the backing plate. Remove the flex plate at the last step.

How to Position and Install a Flywheel on the Crankshaft on Dodge Sprinter 2500?

Attach the flex plate and backing plate to the crankshaft so the flex plate goes on first. Squirt a small amount of Mopar Lock & Seal Adhesive on the flex plate bolts. Put the flex plate bolts in a cross pattern and tighten them to 20 Nm at first, later to 45 Nm and for the last step rotate them an additional 90 degrees. Now, set the transaxle into place.
