  Use an approved diesel draining station to drain fuel from the tank before you begin work. Remove the fuel fill and vent lines from the body and then raise and prop up your car or truck. Put the tank on a hydraulic jack and take off the fuel tank strap nuts (8), placing the straps (7) near the left part of the vehicle. Gently place the tank a few inches down, cut the wires to the electrical connector on top of the Fuel Pump module, remove the fuel supply line, then disconnect the fuel return line at the tank. Lower the tank further for it to come out. When removing the fuel pump module, clean the area around it on top of the fuel pump. While switching the fuel tank, take off the fuel pump module. Make sure to remove the fuel cooler lines using special pliers #9539. For putting in fuel cooler lines, continue to use the special pliers #9539. While installing a new fuel tank, remember to install the pump module inside the tank. Place the fuel tank under the hydraulic jack and raise it so that it becomes almost level with the body. Place the tank on top of the larger base and then feed the fill hose into the body until you feel it fit tightly. Attach the fuel tank support straps (7) to the mounting bolts (1), put the two fuel tank strap nuts (8) in place and tighten them according to the instructions. Place aside the jack, attach the fill and vent hoses to the body and join the strap holding the ground wire to the fill hose. Also, let the car rest on the ground, give it fuel and then look to see if there are fuel leaks near the head of the module.
