First move the selector stick into position "D" and then remove the top part of the center portion of the instrument panel, as well as the bottom part. Press the locking tab on the park lock cable coupling together to stop the coupling, press the coupling into the shift lever mount and then rotate it by 90° to disconnect it from the assembly. Press the release button at both marked points and, using a suitable screwdriver, carefully remove the ball socket of the transmission shift cable from the ball knob at the assembly. Release the assembly by unscrewing the bolts, lower the selector lever to "P," then pull out the whole shift lever assembly from your vehicle. Line up the shift lever assembly in the vehicle and use a wrench to fasten the bolts, tightening them to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.). To attach, press the locking tab on the brake loop while turning the coupling clockwise until it's locked in place. Tighten the connector in place, turn the ignition on, use the brakes and move the gear lever again to position "D". Insert the transmission shift cable into the ball knob at the assembly, after that reinsert the top and bottom portions of the center part of the panel and check the repair.
