Dodge Sprinter 3500 Turn Signal Relay Parts and Q&A

  • Q:
How to safely service the Turn Signal Relay equipped with airbags on Dodge Sprinter 3500?
    A:
For servicing the turn signal relay, the supplemental restraint system on vehicles with air bags should first be disabled to avoid personal injury or death. The battery negative cable should be disconnected and isolated. Then wait two minutes for the system capacitor to discharge. Take away the fuse access plate from the steering column opening cover which is positioned on the instrument panel lower. You can gain access to the turn signal relay through the inboard side of the fuse access opening. With both latches disengaged, grasp the relay firmly and pull straight down away from the fuse block bottom receptacle to remove it. To install the turn signal relay, locate it at the receptacle on the bottom of the fuse block. Align the relay terminals with the terminal cavities. With a firm and even push on top of the relay, the terminals will seat fully and the two latches will engage. Place the fuse access panel back onto the steering column opening cover and reconnect the battery negative cable.
