  The valve faces measure 44° - 44.5° for the intake and exhaust and 44.75° - 45.25° for the valve seats. Once the valves are refaced, make sure the rest of the margin follows the engine's specifications. It is very important to use the appropriate size valve guide pilot in valve seat refacing to achieve a correct and even surface. Using a dial indicator, measure that the valve seat is concentric with the bore, so that the total runout is no more than 0.05 mm (0.002 in.). To verify how well the valve contacts the seat, use Prussian blue on the seat, install the valve and rotate it without much force. A blue mark in the valve's center shows acceptable contact. If the blue leaves the top edge, adjust the valve seat downward with a 30° stone and if it comes out the bottom edge, raise it with a 75° stone. Worn valve seats can be repaired by honing them, as long as the proper size and angle are kept; otherwise, the cylinder head must be replaced.   Before you service the valve, take out the cylinder head and compress the valve springs using a spring compressor. At this point,remove the valve retaining locks, valve spring retainers, valve stem cup seals and valve springs. Before you remove any valves, clear out any burrs around the locking grooves and note which valves are to be reinstalled. For installing valves, coat each stem with clean oil and insert them into the head of the engine cylinder. When the valves or seats have been reground, check how high the tips are using a tool and how fulley the spring is engaged. If the valve tip is found to measure over 49.53 mm (1 61/64 inch), reduce the height by grinding the valve to the proper specification taken from the cylinder head. After you've installed the seats over the valve guides, follow with putting new seals on all of the valve stems and then the valve springs and the valve retainers. Lay the valve springs inside a valve spring compressor, make sure the retaining locks are installed and release the compressor. Whenever the valves or seats are replaced, inspect each spring and measure it from the top of the spring seat to the underside of the spring retainer. Should the height of the spring be between 41.85 - 43.44 mm (1.648 - 1.710 inch), a 0.794 mm (1/32 inch) spacer should be installed in the head counter-bore under the valve spring, between the valve and head.
