How to Perform a Seat Switch Replacement on the Left Power Seat on Jeep Cherokee?

Disconnect and insulate the battery negative cable before changing the left power seat switch. Loosen and remove the three screws holding the side shield to the frame of the outboard seat cushion and then remove the shield to get to the switch wire connection. Take the side shield off the seat and disconnect the wire harness connector from the switch connector receptacle. Then, remove the two screws under the cloth near the side of the seat cushion and pull out the power seat switch. Position the switch inside the side shield beneath the cushion and tighten the two screws to 2.2 Nm (20 in.lbs.). Bring the side shield and power seat switch unit back to the seat cushion on the passenger door side, hook the power seat wire harness to the connector and secure the side shield with the three screws that go on the seat frame. At last, attach the battery negative cable to its connector.
