How to Maintain and Fix the Hood Cable on Jeep Grand Cherokee?

To begin service or repair of the hood cable, first free it from both the hood latch and the support clips found on the inner fender panel. Following this, get rid of the left cowl panel trim, then take out the fasteners that hold the cable bracket to the cowl side of the engine. Take the cable out of the connector under the instrument panel by running it through the dash panel first. Route the cable through the dash panel hole toward the engine, slowly pulling the wire so the round grommet inserts into the bottom of the removable panel. Set the cable bracket on the cowl side panel and screw it in place with the fasteners. Replace the side trim panel on the left cowl, put the cable in the left inner fender panel clips and secure the cable to the hood latch.
