First, take out the trim panel and waterdam to reach the tailgate handle. Drop the switch in the lock, disconnect the electrical connectors for the flip-up glass release, undo the threaded clips and pull out the actuator rods. To separate the handle, loosen and remove the two screws. When you mount the handle, make it fit against the gate and the support bracket; install nuts throughout and tighten them down to 6 N.m (55 in.lbs.) Next, tighten the screws at the same torque.
