Before servicing or repairing the hood hinge, first take off the
Wiper Arms, then the cowl panel and screen. After that, remove the bolts that hold the hinge to the cowl. Trace the spot for the hinge on the hood with a wax pencil so you can reposition it properly during reinstallation. Take out the screws from the hinge before separating the hinge from the hood. When putting in the new hinge, first paint it to look just like the body color and then position it according to the marks on the hood. First, use a torque wrench to attach the hinge to the hood and cowl with screws of 24 Nm (18 ft.lbs.). Then, install the bolts that hold the hinge to the cowl. Afterwards, reinstall both the cowl and the whole wiper screen, along with the wiper arms.
