The Ram A/C Clutch also allows the truck to cool the cabin without wasting power and only switches on the compressor when the operator requests cold air. In 2010 Ram was made a pickup brand of its own and since then it has packed benefits in every model such as the e-Torque mild hybrid system that adds low speed muscle and fuel savings, an optional air suspension that can be raised to eight inches in case of trails or sunk in case of easy loading and the clever lockers on the side of its beds, capable of holding just about anything without damaging it. Enter a Ram and you will get a spacious cabin containing screens that make moving or even travelling in it easy, and the frame provides strength at the front side of every job. The A/C Clutch itself is a small electromagnetic hub that is on the compressor, the primary purpose of which is to rotate during cooling needs to ensure that the engine effort remains concentrated on driving the Ram forward. Installing a new A/C Clutch requires the first step of disconnecting the battery to prevent shorts and the second step of loosening the tensioner and sliding the drive belt off. Disconnect clutch wiring, clamp the hub straight, and unscrew bolts and the snap ring and slide the old pulley and clutch off the nose of the compressor. Install the new pulley, press it home and install the snap ring and adjust the air gap using a feeler gauge. Rewind the connector, feed the belt, test alignment, reconnect battery and start the Ram engine and check smooth engagement, and make sure the new A/C Clutch cycles smoothly.
