The Air Intake Coupling is a small strip of rubber or silicone that connects the throttle body and the filter box and its primary purpose is to remain supple to ensure that the movement or vibration does not allow unfiltered air to pass through. In order to install a new Air Intake Coupling, it is necessary to park the truck on a flat territory and to allow the engine to cool down and then find the current sleeve. Unclamp all the clamps, unplug any sensor that is going by, and slide the worn bit away. Clean both mating stubs, and match the new item against size, and slide Air Intake Coupling entirely over each stub and align ribs or ports. Clamp, reconnect hoses, fire engine up, and rub hands around joint to make sure there is no hissing of escaping air.
