It is easy to replace the original Automatic Transmission Shifter. Unscrew the battery, pry the center console trim, disconnect the wiring harness, and loosen the screws. Apply a small amount of grease to the new Ram Automatic Transmission Shifter detent, then put it on the selector shaft until the locking tabs clamp, and reconnect the plug, then clamp the console back. Reconnect the battery, press the ignition until the control module recalibrates to the new Automatic Transmission Shifter positions, and then go on a short drive in the Ram to ensure that all gears change smoothly.
