Ram Pitman Arm is the steering linkage lever that converts the motion of the gearboxes into straight tie-rod shove, allowing the front wheels to follow each command to the letter. Ram trucks are made on the foundations of decades of pickup grit combined with brains. A skeletal frame, available air suspension, which raises eight inches to aid rock climbing but reduces to a squat to decrease drag, and the ingenious RamBox keeps tools dry and locked up. The eTorque mild hybrid adds an additional twist on start-up to ensure the V8 gets the impression of having swallowed an electric booster and consumes less fuel in stop-start slog. On the inside, there is active noise control hush muffling and glass that is so thick that it drowns out the sound of road roar when allowing that huge touchscreen to direct the routes without screaming. The steering is kept tight due to the fact that the power pump supplies the gearbox at a rapid rate and the Ram Pitman Arm ensures that play does not exist in the tie rods thus the drivers have fingertip control with a full pallet strapped down. All Ram cabs are a moving living room on potholes. To change the Pitman Arm, park on smooth ground, make the wheel straight, remove the key, incidentally loosen the steering linkage nut when the tires are still in contact with the concrete. Raise up, pull the cotter pin, bang the arm with a puller until it clips out, then place the new Pitman Arm onto the sector shaft splines, get the master notch lined up, and tighten the big nut, re-fit the cotter, roll the Ram slowly on wheels, refill and bleed the power steering, and make sure that the wheel remains centered on a slow test roll.
