    A: To service the brake proportioning valve on vehicles without antilock brakes, remove the hydraulic brake line from the valve controlling the rear wheel. Install the new valve, hand tighten the tube nuts, then torque them to 17 Nm (145 inch lbs.) and bleed the affected brake line.
