To fix or repair the lower arm and toe control arm assemblies, pull the toe control arm ball joint off the knuckle, joining the special tool's cord to a nearby component and mindfully loosen the nut without getting it off. Let's place marks on the toe control arm and on the eccentric cam bolt before loosening the mounting bolt. Get a good view of each bushing to check for signs of deterioration, inspect the control arm for bends and look at all bolts for damage and straightness. After you've shaken the ball joint stud several times, install the nut and check the breakaway torque using the special tool. It must be between 0.1 - 2.65 Nm (1 - 23 inch lbs.). If the value you get is larger than desired, take out and replace the toe control arm assembly; if it's below, check if the ball joint can move side to side without having much slop.
