How to Service and Repair a Harmonic Balancer on 2000 Dodge Caravan?

Before servicing or repairing the harmonic balancer and crankshaft pulley, remove both the accessory drive belts and the crankshaft damper bolt. With Special Tool 1026 and Insert 6827-A, disconnect the damper. When installing the damper, use an M12 bolt with a 1.75 x 150 mm dimension from Special Tool 6792 and apply waterproof grease to the threads before pressing. After that, set and tighten the crankshaft damper bolt to a torque of 142 Nm (105 ft. lbs.). After finishing the tune-up, install the accessory drive belts once again.
