How to Service and Repair an Oil Pan on 2000 Dodge Caravan?

The first step to handling the oil pan is to raise your vehicle on a hoist and drain the engine oil. Then, unfix the bolts holding the dust shield to the transaxle housing, remove the dust shield and detach the right inner splash shield. After that, take out the oil pan from the engine and tidy up the lubrication gaskets too. Ensure that Mopar Engine RTV GEN II is applied at the oil pump to engine block seam and after that insert the oil pan gasket to the block. Secure the oil pan and fasten its screws to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.) and then attach the dust shield. When the lift is lowered, place the engine oil in the crankcase to the correct level.
