2000 Dodge Grand Caravan A/C Condenser Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace an A/C Condenser in a Refrigeration System on 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan?
A: Be sure the refrigeration system is completely empty and don't get any R-134a system part wet when replacing the condenser. Initially, get the system refrigerant out, then unbolt the filter-drier from the radiator module and cut off the liquid line at the filter before unbolting the case from the module. After that, take out the upper radiator crossmember and lean the radiator toward the back. After you take off the condensate line, bring the lower liquid line into your view by accessing it from the filter-drier through the fascia. Unbolt the condenser from its top and bottom before removal from the car. As the system is assembled, inspect the cooling module, exchange every O-ring and gasket and treat all seals with the right refrigerant oil before completing the reverse installation. Set the liquid line at the filter/drier to 45 in. lbs. ± 10, the upper discharge line at the condenser to 180 in. lbs. ± 20, the lower liquid line to the condenser to 180 in. lbs. ± 20, all condenser mounting bolts to 45 in. lbs. ± 10, both upper and lower condenser mounting bolts to 45 in. lbs. ± 10 and the turbo fitting to 65. Now it's time to remove the equipment from the electric panel and recharge it.
