  A: The first step in fuel injector repair is to take out the fuel rail. Take off the wiring connector from the injector and move the fuel rail assembly closer so you can reach the injectors. Turn the injector and remove it from the fuel rail, making sure the clip stays on it all the way out. Check the O-ring of the injector for any signs of damage; if you see damage, exchange it. Should the injector be reused, cover the injector tip with a protective cap and, if the clip is damaged, change it as well. Perform the instructions again for the other injectors. Before you insert the injector, take a little clean engine oil and rub it around the rubber O-ring. Pull the receiver cup into the side slots of the clip and then push the edge of the receiver cup into the top slot of the injector.
