2000 Dodge Grand Caravan Thermostat Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain Your Thermostat on 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan?
A: Drain the system below where the thermostat is first. Following this, unbolt the thermostat housing and remove it together with the thermostat, tossing out the gasket. After, wash both the gasket sealing surfaces. Place a new gasket which needs to be wet, on the housing of the thermostat and then place the thermostat inside the intake manifold water box opening. Slot the housing and the gasket onto the thermostat and ensure it slots into the built-in recess. Put the housing onto the intake manifold, tighten the bolts to 28 Nm (250 inch lbs.) and then fill the cooling system back up to the correct level.
