How to Remove and Replace a Piston in an Engine on 2000 Dodge Intrepid?

In order to get a replacement piston, a ridge reamer can be used to clean out the top ridge of the cylinder bore. Mark positions of connecting rod, cap and remove them. Install piston rings with I.D. mark up of No. 2 ring. Stagger the gaps, lubricate the parts and fit the piston and connecting rod and tighten bolts to 27 Nm.
