  A: To deal with the thermostat, you should first empty the cooling systems to a level below the thermostat. After that, detach the coolant recovery/reserve system hose and the upper radiator hose and remove the bolts on top of the radiator to take out the thermostat and its O-ring assembly. Clear all the connecting parts and set the new thermostat assembly into the thermostat housing/outlet connector, matching the vent with the hole in the cylinder head. Once that is done, line up the housing/outlet connector on the cylinder head and use 12.5 Nm (110 inch lbs.) force to tighten the bolts. Once that is done, install the upper radiator hose and add the coolant recovery/reserve system hose before refilling the cooling system.
