How to Service the Headlight Switch on 2000 Dodge Ram 2500?

Disconnect and separate the battery negative cable as the first step to servicing the headlamp switch. Take out the cluster bezel from the instrument panel. Then, remove the three screws holding the headlamp switch bezel to the instrument panel and take the switch away from the panel so you can reach the wire harness connectors. Separate the wires from the two instrument panel wire harness connectors on the headlamp switch receptacles and take out the headlamp switch from the instrument panel. When installing, place the headlamp switch onto the instrument panel and reconnect the wire harnesses to the switch. Be sure to tighten the three screws on the headlamp switch to 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.) after inserting it into the panel. Additionally, snap the cluster bezel back in place and plug the battery's negative cable one last time.
