How to service the 248 RBI Axle Shaft on 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 Van?

After unscrewing the wheels, raise them both off the ground before starting. First remove the axle shaft bolts and then gently pull it away from the axle tube. To install, apply a cleaner to the surfaces that touch the gasket of the flange, set a fresh gasket in the flange and slide the axle shaft up from the outside of the tube. Put the bolts into place and tighten them all to 122 Nm (90 ft. lbs.).
