2000 Dodge Ram 3500 Brake Booster Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Effectively Bleed a Brake Booster System on 2000 Dodge Ram 3500?
A: Air tends to get completely removed from the hydraulic brake booster as your car drives; no need to bleed these brakes usually. The first step in bleeding the system is to put fluid in the power steering pump reservoir. Next, take out the fuel shutdown relay and try to start the engine for several seconds following all service guidelines. Afterward, have a look at the fluid and check if it requires fresh fluid. Turn the fuel shutdown relay back on and start driving and then gently move the steering wheel from each end to the center and vice versa two times. Turn off the engine and empty the accumulator by braking five times. Engine start and then turn the steering wheel from one side to the other, slowly completing two loops. After the check, turn off the engine and examine the fluid amount to see if it should be added. Should there be fluid foaming, wait for the froth to disappear and go on to the last two steps.
