2000 Dodge Ram 3500 Speed Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain a Front Wheel Speed Sensor on 2000 Dodge Ram 3500?
A: To manage the front wheel speed sensor, you should raise and support your car before working on it. Remove the ABS wheel speed sensor wire under the hood and cut the sensor wire away from the car's frame, brake hose and steering knuckle. After that, remove the sensor bolt from the back of the steering knuckle and pull the sensor out. Organize your hands so you can grip the knuckle in place, then set the bolt of the sensor into the sensor location and tighten it with 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.). Use the sensor's original or replacement part because it cannot be substituted. Once more, attach the sensor wire to the steering knuckle, the brake hose and the frame and then connect the wheel speed sensor wire to a stand underneath the hood. Make sure the wire path for the sensor is free of chassis parts and that it's not tangled in any way. Ultimately, eliminate the support, bring the vehicle down and test the sensors with a scan tool.
