2000 Dodge Stratus EGR Valve Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace the EGR Valve and Transducer in the EGR System on 2000 Dodge Stratus?
A: To service the EGR system, if it does not function properly, change the EGR valve and transducer since they are linked. Start by pulling out the vacuum line from the EGR transducer solenoid and the electrical connector from the solenoid. Then, remove the screws holding the EGR tube to the EGR valve, the screws that mount the EGR valve and afterwards take out the EGR valve and transducer. Clear off any dirt from the gasket regions, throw away the old gaskets and if needed, clean the EGR passages as well. To set up the EGR valve, loosen all its hardware but keep the gaskets tight and fasten the tubes loosely. The EGR valve mounting screws should be tightened to 22 Nm (200 in. lbs.) and the EGR tube fasteners to 11 Nm (95 in. lbs.) torque. Connect the hose coming from the pump to the solenoid and then fit the electrical connector onto it.
