Start by removing the air cleaner box and the throttle cable shield, after unattaching the negative
Battery Cable. Unscrew the 4 bolts holding the upper
EGR Tube into the
Intake Manifold and take the 2 bolts connecting this tube to the EGR valve. After that, unscrew the two bolts from the EGR valve to the cylinder head and put the car on a jack. To start, pull the bolts and gasket from the lower EGR tube to the
Exhaust Manifold, then lift the car, pull the bolts and remove the EGR valve from the cylinder head, followed by taking away the assembly and bolts from the EGR tube to the EGR valve. For fitting the lower EGR tube, install the 2 bolts to the EGR valve on either side, snug each screw by hand and position the tube. Attach a new gasket for the EGR valve to the cylinder head and then loosely fasten the bolts, then place the assembly. Place each of the 2 bolts and gasket for the upper EGR tube on the valve and also insert 2 bolts into the cylinder head for the EGR valve. Once more, bring the engine back up, turn the exhaust tube into place and ensure a new gasket is between the manifold and the tube. Leave the bolt loose for now. Apply 275 in. lbs. of torque to the EGR tube to exhaust manifold bolts, lower the car and then tighten the EGR valve to cylinder head bolts to 203 in. lbs. torque. Now, turn the screw on the outboard side of the EGR tube to 11 Nm (95 in. lbs.) torque, after which tighten all the upper EGR tube screws to 11 Nm (95 in. lbs.) torque. After that, link the electrical wire to the EGR valve, set the air cleaner box back and fasten the negative battery cable.
