How to Service and Repair a Trunk Lid Latch on 2000 Dodge Viper?

Service or repair the trunk/liftgate latch by drilling out the pop rivets holding the release remote to the decklid and then remove the remote. Scribe a line around the latch's outline to help in installation, then remove the attaching bolts and take the latch from the vehicle. When connecting your latch, position it back onto your vehicle and hold the bolts loosely in the decklid. Adjust the decklid latch to fit the outline you drew earlier and tighten all the bolts. After that, attach the remote to the decklid using the pop rivets.
