2000 Dodge Viper Wiper Switch Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Wiper Switch on 2000 Dodge Viper?
A: Always unplug and shield the battery jump start attachment before starting on the windshield washer switch. Get rid of the tilt steering column lever and the knee blocker/lower steering column trim panel as well. After that, get rid of the upper cowl on the steering column, then its lower one and then the fixed lower cowl. Loose the screws at the top of your steering column without taking them out yet. Slide back the upper fixed column shroud to access the multi-function switch, then remove the tamper proof mounting screws with a Snap On tamper proof Torx bit TTXR20B2 or equivalent. Pull the switch from the column and unscrew the connector screw which will not come out. Take out the wire harness connector from the multi-function switch. To fit the new switch, turn things around as explained before and tighten all screws according to this guide: multi-function switch connector screws to 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.), multi-function switch retaining screws to 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.) and steering column upper bracket nuts to 12 Nm (110 in. lbs.).
