How to Service a Cooling Fan Assembly for Electric and Viscous Fans on 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

To work on the electric and viscous cooling fans, disconnect the negative battery cable. For the engine 4.0L, turn the nut of fan drive turn counterclockwise. For the 4.7L engine, you can use a spanner wrench. Remove the fan shroud with the fan assembly, no horizontal placement of the viscous fan drive. Reconnect and reconnect the battery.
