2001 Chrysler LHS Harmonic Balancer Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain a Harmonic Balancer and Crankshaft Pulley on 2001 Chrysler LHS?
A: The first step is to disconnect the right strut tower's negative cable, after which you should remove the upper radiator crossmember and the radiator fan. After that, grab the tensioner and take out the accessory drive belts. Hold the crankshaft damper in place with Special Tool 8191 while dealing with the center bolt. Use Special Tool 1023 puller together with C-4685-C2 to remove the crankshaft damper. When mounting, require Special Tools C-4685-C1 (5.9 inch) Bolt plus the nut and thrust bearing from 6792 along with the 6792-1 Installer for the crankshaft damper. Hand-tighten the center bolt then use a torque wrench to tighten it to 115 Nm or 85 ft. lbs. While connecting the negative cable back to the battery is your last step, be sure to install the accessory drive belts, radiator fan and the upper radiator crossmember first.
