2001 Chrysler Sebring Alternator Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Fix an Alternator on 2001 Chrysler Sebring?
A: Start your repair of the alternator by removing the negative cable from the battery and its end at the shock tower. Take out the belt cover and pull the field circuit off the generator. Use a small blade tool to pry up the B+ terminal cover and afterwards remove the B+ terminal nut and wire. Raise and hold the vehicle in place, then remove the splash shield and belt of the accessory drive. Drop the vehicle and take out the MAP sensor from the intake manifold. After that, unbolter the generator and take it out of the car. When installing the generator, return it to where it was, then secure it with bolts. Reline the MAP sensor and tighten all the bolts. Raise the vehicle again so you can put in the accessory drive belt, then the accessory drive splash shield, before bringing it down. Fasten the B+ terminal nut back and reconnect its wire, put the B+ terminal housing on, bind the field circuit from generator to chain, fit the belt cover again and link the negative cable back to the battery.
