2001 Chrysler Sebring Oil Pan Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Effectively Maintain and Repair an Oil Pan on 2001 Chrysler Sebring?
A: To fix and service the oil pan, unhook the negative battery cable, raise up the vehicle using a hoist and let all the oil out of the engine. After that, take out the structural collar, torque reaction bracket and the bolts under the oil pan, then detach the oil pan. Remove any debris from the oil pan and all gasket places. Apply Mopar Engine RTV GEN II at where the oil pump and engine block meet. Then put the oil pan gasket onto the block where it is needed. After you reinstall the oil pan, tighten its bolts to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.), then fit the structural collar and torque reaction bracket. Lastly, drop the vehicle as far as needed, add suitable oil to the right spot in the engine crankcase and put the negative cable back in its place on the battery.
