2001 Chrysler Sebring Throttle Cable Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Throttle Cable on 2001 Chrysler Sebring?
A: To start servicing the throttle cable and linkage, keep the throttle body lever in its wide open position from inside the engine area. Take out the throttle cable from the throttle body cam. Within the vehicle, foot the pedal upwards and take out the cable retainer and the throttle cable from the top of the pedal shaft. After that, take out the retainer clip from the cable and grommet positioned at the dash panel. While the grommet stays there, take the throttle cable out through the panel opening. At the same time, compress both retaining ears and, while doing so, gently remove the cable from the throttle bracket. After that, disconnect the throttle cable from the bracket on the valve cover. Push the housing into the dash panel grommet in the engine area and then install the cable housing into the cable bracket on the engine. Attach the throttle cable back to the bracket found on the valve cover. Once you're inside, lift up the pedal and add the throttle cable and the cable retainer at the top of the pedal lever's shaft. Between the end of the throttle cable and the grommet at the airbox, place the cable retainer clip on the dash panel. Also, open the throttle lever as wide as it will go in the engine compartment and add the throttle cable.
