Getting access to the throttle cable begins with holding the throttle body throttle lever all the way open from the engine area. Unlock the throttle cable from the throttle body cam and proceed to open the vehicle to remove the retainer at the top end of the pedal lever. Then, unclip the clip at the end of the throttle cable from the throttle cable grommet at the dash, pull the cable out of the dash and remove the cable grommet from the dash panel. Compress the throttle bracket holding the ears together and slowly remove the cable by pulling it free. On a 4 cylinder engine, pull the throttle cable out from the routing clip on the
Fuel Rail, as well as the routing clip on the left front shocktower. When installing, feed the pedal end fitting through the dash opening from the engine side, seat the grommet and fit the cable dash fitting into the grommet. On the engine, link the throttle body end-fitting to the cable mounting bracket and then on 4 cylinder engines attach the throttle cable routing clip to the bracket on the fuel rail and the additional clip to the shocktower. From inside, press the pedal to the floor and fasten the throttle cable and retainer on top of the lever. Berigate the cable retainer clip behind the throttle cable fitting that's attached to the dash and place it under the grommet. Turn the throttle lever to its widest position from the engine compartment and fix the throttle cable.
