2001 Chrysler Sebring Wheel Bearing Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Rear Wheel Bearing on 2001 Chrysler Sebring?
A: First, use jackstands or a frame contact hoist to raise the vehicle and then take out the rear wheel and tire from the hub. After that, remove the rear brake caliper and rotor by simply pulling the rotor straight off the wheel studs. Lift off the dust cap at the back of the wheel's hub and bearing assembly, removed the hub and bearing nut once the dust cap is off. By hand, pull the rear hub and bearing right off of the spindle. As you install, fasten the hub and bearing assembly onto the knuckle spindle with a NEW retaining nut and tighten to 250 Nm (185 ft. lbs.). Use a soft faced hammer to put in the hub and bearing dust cap, after which you should fit the brake rotor to the hub and bearing. Fit the disc brake caliper, slide in the rear wheel and tire assembly and secure all wheel stud nuts in a zigzag pattern, stopping at half the indicated torque. Afterward, fully tighten the nuts to a value of 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs.). After that, bring it down.
