2001 Chrysler Town & Country Air Bag Control Module Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service the Air Bag Control Module for Side Impact on 2001 Chrysler Town & Country?
A: Remove and separate the negative terminal of your battery from the rest of the equipment before starting working on the Side Impact air bag Control Module. Slide the B-pillar trim off of the vehicle from the side that needs replacement. Then, unscrew the three Siacm retaining screws, pull out the module from the car and separate it from the electrical connector. Installation requires connecting the Siacm connector and inserting the module in the correct B-pillar slot, secured by the three screws, tightened to 5.7 - 7.9 Nm. Then, place the trim covering the B-pillar below back on the right or left side, depending on your model. Pay attention not to form a connection to the battery negative terminal until you have determined the air bag's condition and checked its testing.
