2001 Chrysler Voyager Fuel Rail Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service a Fuel Rail on 2001 Chrysler Voyager?
A: Before servicing the fuel rail, first release the pressure in the fuel system and take away the negative battery cable. Remove the fuel injectors harness connector wires and take off the wiring harness from the brackets. Remove the fuel injectors from the vehicle and take the harness out as well. Take the fuel hose quick connect fitting away from the chassis tube by unhooking it, lay a shop towel where the connections meet to catch any spilled gas and put a shop towel around the exposed hoses to help catch any dripping fuel. After that, eliminate the fuel rail attaching bolts and delicately take out the fuel rail, guarding the injector O-rings while you do so. When installing, ensure you look after the injector holes and keep damaged O-rings off the new ones. Before fitting each injector, smooth the O-ring with a small drop of engine oil, position the tip in its port and press it firmly in place until it's secured. Fasten the fuel rail mounting bolts and apply 22 Nm (200 in. lbs.) of torque. Put the connectors into the fuel injectors, guide the wiring harness back to the brackets and plug the fuel injector wiring harness back in. After that, reconnect the negative battery cable and use the Drbiii(R) scan tool to force air through the fuel system, to check for leaks.
