How to Service and Repair an Automatic Transmission Shifter on 2001 Dodge Dakota?

To repair the A/T gear shift lever, remove the knee blocker and lower the steering column. Detach the shrouds, overdrive switch wiring and shift cable. Remove the gear shift lever then reinstall with the screws tightened to 12 Nm. Reconnect parts and tighten the steering column.
