2001 Dodge Grand Caravan A/C Switch Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Recalibrate the A/C Switch After Replacing an Actuator Motor or Control Module on 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan?
A: It is necessary to recalibrate the heater-A/C control module each time that either an actuator motor or the control module is replaced, so the control module can read the correct voltages at all stop points for each front door actuator in the HVAC unit housing and also in the rear HVAC actuators if available. First, turn on the ignition, then press and hold both the Power and Recirculation buttons at the heater-A/C control for at least five seconds; the manual heater-A/C control Delay Light Emitting Diode (LED) and Recirculation LED or the Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) heater-A/C control Delay and Recirculation graphics will flash to show you the calibration is starting. It will only take a couple of minutes for the manual heater-A/C control and only about twenty seconds for the ATC heater-A/C control to calibrate, verifying that the LEDs or graphics have stopped flashing. Should the LEDs or graphics still keep flashing after the normal calibration time, this indicates an issue has happened and a DTC has been set, so a DRB III scan tool must be used for diagnosis; the flashing will not stop until a successful calibration occurs or the car is driven a sufficient distance.
