2001 Dodge Intrepid Camshaft Position Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove and Install a Camshaft Position Sensor on 2001 Dodge Intrepid?
A: There is a camshaft position sensor inside the head, although usually just at the front. To start, unplug the sensor's electrical connector and subsequently unscrew the camshaft position sensor. Carefully remove the sensor from the chain cover so you don't pull on the connector. Place the sensor in the chain cover, then push it inwards until it touches the boss on your bike's head. Up to this point, you should place the sensor, install and tighten the retaining bolt to a torque of 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.) and then attach the electrical connector to the sensor.
