- Q: How is the Battery Sensor Positioned, Removed, and Installed on 2001 Dodge Ram 3500?A: The sensor for the battery temperature is found under the battery and attached to a hole in the battery tray. Initially, disconnect the battery to turn it off, disconnect the sensor pigtail harness from the engine wire harness and push up on the sensor with a pry tool from the battery tray hole. During setup, take the harness, pass it through the mounting hole in the battery tray and press the sensor into the tray until it clicks into place. After that, connect the pigtail harness and secure the battery into place.
