2001 Dodge Ram 3500 Brake Disc Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Brake Disc on Single Rear Wheels on 2001 Dodge Ram 3500?
A: Before repairing or servicing the brake rotor/disc on single rear wheels, raise and hold the vehicle and then unmount the tire and wheel. After that, unscrew the bolts holding the calipers in place and take the entire caliper off. To replace the rear axle shaft on the C3500, first pull it from both the housing and the hub and rotor assembly. When putting together the 2500/3500 models, connect the hub to the rotor and make sure all bolts are tightened to 128 Nm (95 ft. lbs.). Next, set up the hub and rotor together and attach the shaft of the rear axles to the twin front housing. Following that, attach the caliper adapter bolts and put on the disc brake caliper, then replace the tire and wheel before lowering the vehicle.
