2001 Dodge Ram 3500 Van Shock Absorber Parts and Q&A
Q: How to service the front shock absorber on 2001 Dodge Ram 3500 Van?
A: To care for the front shock absorber, you should first take off the shock stud's upper nut, retainer and bushing. Then, lift the car, loosen the bottom bolts and take out the shock from the lower suspension arm. Put the base retainer and bushing onto the top stud and pass the shock absorber through the lowermost suspension arm and into the frame's hole. Following that, fix the lower shock bolts and secure them until they reach 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.). Install the upper grommet and retainer on the shock absorber stud, then put on the nut and tighten it to at least 34 Nm (25 ft. lbs.).
