Before servicing the rear shock absorber, raise and support the vehicle. Then, detach the large lower shock absorber view from the axle bracket first and then remove the upper bracket's mounting nut, retainers and bolt. Withdraw the shock absorber from the car and remove the spacer tube from the upper shock absorber eye if you find one attached. It is important to place the shock absorber into the axle bracket and then secure it using the bolt and nut. Attach the spacer tube to the upper side of the shock absorber, slide the shock absorber onto the bracket on the frame rail, fit the inner retainer, bolt, outer retainer and nut. In the final step, close the van's mounting nuts to 95 Nm (70 ft. lbs.), take the supports away and slowly lower the vehicle.
